Matthew B. Swain – Broker Associate/Realtor®️

Born and raised in Myrtle Beach, Matthew has always cherished the coastal lifestyle. After studying Business at the College of Charleston, he embarked on a distinguished 15-year career with an international luxury fashion house in New York City. He later returned to Charleston with the same company, spending eight years before becoming a Managing Director for another luxury firm in NY. Eventually, Matthew transitioned to a career in real estate upon his return to Charleston, where he served a discerning clientele for the next seven years. Now, Matthew has relocated to Myrtle Beach to be closer to his family, bringing his expertise and dedication to the local real estate market.

Matthew’s career has been defined by a strong work ethic, loyalty, and entrepreneurial drive. His passion for travel took him to the Netherlands at a young age, where he explored many European countries, deepening his appreciation for the beauty and history of architecture. Further travels through Eastern Europe enriched his understanding of diverse cultures. He brings this warmth and cultural appreciation to everyone he encounters in his hometown.

Matthew was instrumental in not only the purchase of our new home in I’on but also navigating the complexities of a relocation from the northeast to Charleston. With our very limited knowledge of the area, we were the worst of clients because we not only did not know what we wanted, we actually thought we did. Our initial must have list and neighborhood requirements were 180 degrees from what we actually needed but instead of telling us that he knew better than us what we needed (which wouldn’t have worked) he took the time to show us what we didn’t want and helped get us to what worked for us without us ever feeling like he was pushing us. Once we were set on the home he expertly negotiated the sale and inspection aspect which again was very different than up north. Matthew was always available to us and looking back at the several months it took to find our home he answered his cell literally (and I am using literally correctly) every time I called him. I have no idea if he even has voicemail since I never got it once. In the end we ended up in the perfect neighborhood, on the perfect street and in the perfect home.
