Born and raised in coastal South Carolina, Matthew has always had a deep appreciation for the Low Country.  His love of Charleston began at a young age when he and his family would visit for long weekends to enjoy what the city had to offer.  Ultimately, he enrolled at the College of Charleston studying Business, before an opportunity led him to New York City.  Matthew worked for an international luxury fashion house for 15 years during which he was offered a position in Charleston, which allowed him to spend eight years of his career here.  At this point, his love for Charleston peaked leading him to purchase his first home that he has owned for over a decade.  Although his career took him back to the NY market working as a Managing Director for another luxury firm he remained committed to returning to Charleston.  Upon his return he decided to follow his passion and pursue a career in real estate.  Matthew prides himself with having a strong work ethic, sense of loyalty and entrepreneurial drive.  When he was young, he spent many of his summers working at his family’s company learning about business from the ground up.  He witnessed firsthand how the client experience is vital to any successful business. This importance carried with him throughout his career and remains a top priority in his real estate endeavors.

Matthew loves to travel and has been abroad on many occasions for both personal and professional interests.  At an early age, he longed to see the world and experience different cultures, which led him to live in the Netherlands for over a year.  During that time he was able to visit many European countries expanding his appreciation for the beauty and history of architecture.  Matthew also spent a summer traveling through Eastern Europe visiting seven countries.  He has a broad sense of gratitude for the many cultures he has experienced and hopes to show the same warmth to anyone choosing to spend time in Charleston.

What I love about Charleston is that it offers the best of town and country.  You can spend the day touring an historic estate, relax on the beach or enjoy shopping downtown before having a spectacular meal at a world-renowned restaurant.  Charleston has something for everyone!
