About Matthew
Leadership Rooted in Integrity. Strategy Guided by Purpose.
I am Matthew B. Swain, a business leader with more than two decades of experience guiding organizations, teams, and clients through complex, high accountability environments. My career spans global luxury brand leadership, high value real estate advisory, and advanced business education, bringing together disciplined execution, strategic judgment, and a deep understanding of organizational and human dynamics.
For over twenty years, I held executive leadership roles with iconic global fashion houses, including Gucci and Hermès. In these positions, I led multimillion dollar business units, built and developed high performing teams, and managed relationships where discretion, trust, and accountability were paramount. These experiences shaped a leadership approach grounded in ethical decision making, operational rigor, and emotional intelligence, qualities essential to sustaining performance and credibility at the highest levels.
I later transitioned into luxury real estate, advising multimillion dollar buyers and sellers across coastal South Carolina. This work required translating strategic insight into decisive action in fluid market conditions while maintaining clarity, integrity, and long term perspective. It further strengthened my ability to operate where financial outcomes, personal priorities, and complex negotiations converge.
Alongside professional practice, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, earned magna cum laude with a 3.946 GPA, from the AACSB accredited Wall College of Business at Coastal Carolina University. I am currently completing my Master of Business Administration at Coastal Carolina University, with expected completion in the spring of 2026. My graduate studies emphasize global strategy, ethical leadership, governance, and organizational value creation, reinforcing a disciplined approach to evaluating risk, performance, and long term enterprise health.
My professional focus centers on bridging rigorous business practice with strategic inquiry. I am particularly interested in how organizations achieve durable success by aligning profitability with responsibility, leadership with accountability, and strategy with purpose. With long term plans to pursue doctoral study in international business, my work is oriented toward contributing insight that supports globally minded, principled enterprises.
Across every chapter of my career, my objective has remained consistent: to help people and organizations make better decisions, lead with integrity, and create value that endures.
